Uhuru Kenyatta brokering a political deal between Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka
Uhuru Kenyatta is brokering a political deal between ODM leader Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka, it has emerged.
The two politicians are thought to be in talks, which will lead to the development of a huge coalition that will face up against Deputy President William Ruto in an August political showdown.
The former premier and Kalonzo appointed teams to hold behind-the-scenes talks and are claimed to have reached an agreement.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is claimed to have started the talks after covertly meeting with the two former National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders in a desperate bid to urge them to join forces.
Kalonzo will finalize the pact under the One Kenya Alliance (OKA), which includes Gideon Moi of KANU, Martha Karua of Narc Kenya, and Cyrus Jirongo of the United Democratic Party.
Despite the fact that the OKA’s leaders have remained tight-lipped about their ambitions to join forces with Raila, it has been proven that a committee made up of people from both sides is working on a grand coalition.
Following a closed-door meeting on Wednesday, February 2, the OKA luminaries ruled out joining a partnership with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance (KKA).
Ruto and the former OKA founders, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula formed the Kenyan Kenya Alliance (KKA).
It has also emerged that Jimmy Wanjigi was kicked out of OKA talks ahead of the August 9 General Election.
Wanjigi was allegedly ‘thrown out’ for being Ruto’s mole and his constant attacks on Raila.
The businessman had in recent days been attending OKA meetings but was conspicuously absent on Wednesday, January 2, when its principals inked a deal to work together.
