A 35-year-old father arrested in the Mathare area in Kajiado North, after suffocating his three-week-old baby to death.
The man was taken into custody by Ngong Police Station personnel after his wife reported the incident, detailing the events that led to the horrific incident.
The suspect’s wife claims that her husband covered the baby’s mouth and nose, cutting airflow for a while and ultimately resulting in the infant’s death.
The mother who was at the time cooking in the kitchen walked into the husband committing the heinous act but failed to stop him.

The woman further revealed that had in the past couple of days had disagreements with her husband, which she stated might have played a part in the man’s actions.
Neighbours confirming the situation within the family stated that the two had been having on-and-off fights for a long time.
However, they expressed shock at the shocking turn of events.
The baby’s body was transported to a nearby mortuary awaiting an autopsy report to aid the officers with further investigations.
