Dorcas Rigathi issues a scathing critique of Kenya’s moral state and social state.
Dorcas Rigathi, the spouse of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has issued a scathing critique of Kenya’s moral and social state, highlighting growing corruption and ‘rising wickedness’.
Speaking at an event in Kamukunji Grounds in Nyeri, Dorcas emphasised the urgent need for the nation to turn back to God, lamenting the current trajectory of Kenya’s morality and governance.
“We cannot sit as Kenyans and lie to ourselves that the country is doing well. It is not doing well,” she stated.
Dorcas expressed concerns about widespread ‘wickedness’ in the nation, pointing out that people have forsaken their faith and fallen into corruption and sin.
In remarks partly delivered in Kikuyu, she said, “You have seen the evils continue…people do not worship their God… Many people, even when you look on social media.”
She urged Kenyans to be vigilant and avoid sin, reminding them that even if human eyes cannot see their deeds, God sees everything.
“Do not sin and think because we can’t see you, even God cannot see you. There is a day God will decide to punish you, and when that day comes, all the people will know,” she warned.

Addressing corruption, she called for righteous leadership and accountability.
Quoting the scripture, Dorcas invoked God’s promise to heal the land if His people turn to Him in prayer and repentance.
“God says, ‘If my people who are called by my name…’ It is not everyone that God is looking for. He’s looking for righteous people, people who know their God, who can stand and correct an error,” she declared.
Her remarks come amid ongoing debates about Kenya’s governance, societal values, and the role of religion in addressing the nation’s challenges.
The event was later stormed by unknown people causing chaos and tension. Dorcas was forced to leave after chaos started.
