Why Live Coverage of UDA NDC was Stopped at Kasarani Sports Complex

UDA NDC live coverage was temporally stopped during the party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) at the Moi International Sports Complex in Kasarani.

The party held its first NDC on Tuesday, March 15, crown Deputy President William Ruto as its presidential candidate.

However, much to the dismay of Kenyans, live coverage of the event was stopped moments after it kicked off.

UDA said it was interfering with the live coverage of the function for an hour to discuss internal issues within the party.

Journalists were asked to stay out of the venue and would be called back after the conclusion of the official meeting.

However, the journalists were later called back to the gymnasium for the next session of the programme.

This was after the delegates endorsed Ruto as the party’s presidential candidate.

Reports indicated that during the closed-door session, the UDA delegates nominated William Ruto as their presidential candidate ahead of the August election.

Thousands of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) delegates converged at Moi International Sports Complex in Kasarani.

Guests at the event include Mwangi Kiunjuri (TSP), Moses Kuria (CCK), Jimmy Wanjigi (Safina), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), William Kabogo (Tujibebe), among others.
