A 66-seater bus was on early Thursday morning involved in a fatal road accident in Londiani that left 40 people injured.
40 People were left with serious injuries after a 66-seater bus was on early Thursday, December 14 morning involved in a fatal road accident in Londiani, Kericho County.
In a statement, the Kenya Red Cross announced that the injured had been evacuated to a nearby hospital.
“40 casualties evacuated to Fort Tenarn Hospital; 4 referred to Kericho County Referral Hospital by County ambulance, and well-wishers. No fatalities reported,” Kenya Red Cross announced.
Moreover, the Kenya Red Cross announced that it was offering psychosocial Support to other passengers who had escaped unhurt.
No fatalities were reported at the time.
The tragic accident happened close to six months after 52 people lost their lives on the same spot.

During the fatal accident that happened on July 1, Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen assured Kenyans that no such tragedy would be witnessed on the busy highway again.
The CS ordered the immediate erection of speed bumps at the Londiani Junction as a measure to prevent future fatalities.
Traders on major highways were also ordered to vacate from roadsides but the directive has never been implemented yet.
According to data from the National Police Service, 4,026 Kenyans lost their lives in road accidents between January 1, 2023 and December 12, 2023.
Over the same period, 9,795 were seriously injured.
