Police in Narok North Sub County are investigating an incident in which a 62-year-old man murdered his 12-year-old son at Kipendeni village in Olposimoru ward.
According to a police report, Samuel Landichi killed his 12-year-old son within his homestead over unknown reasons.
The incident which was reported by Olengape sub-location assistant chief Douglas Sadera prompted a probe by Narok DCI officers who have since documented the scene.
“Police established that the boy was cut using a sharp panga on his head by his biological father and died on the spot,” he said, adding that the motive for the murder has not been established.
The minor’s body has been taken to Olenguruoni sub-county hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Meanwhile, Landichi is being held at Olokurto Police Station awaiting further police action.

Elsewhere, police at Ngoisuash area in Narok South Sub County have recovered a body of an unknown man hanging from a tree in a nearby bush.
The body was discovered by children who had gone to graze their livestock in the area. They reported the matter to the village elder.
The police commander reported that the body had no physical injuries or signs of strangulation, hence suspected that the man had committed suicide.
No identification documents or suicide note were recovered from the deceased either.
The body was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation as the police trace the man’s identity.
