Police have intercepted a matatu ferrying explosive materials for making bombs.
According to reports, officers allegedly stopped a car traveling from Nairobi to Kitui after receiving a tip from residents, where they found the contraband wrapped in a parcel.

Police are now awaiting experts from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to analyze the explosives.
Meanwhile, the driver of the matatu has been apprehended and is being held in Kwavonza in lower Yatta in Kitui.
The car has been detained at Kanyonyo Police Station.
