Two Radio Thome FM journalists die in an accident moments after celebrating 4-year anniversary.

Two radio presenters from Thome FM on Saturday, July 27, met their untimely death following a fatal road accident along Sagana-Makutano Highway.

According to the media station, the two journalists namely Stephen Waigwa and Caroline Nyarwai had just celebrated the radio’s 4-year anniversary moments before the accident.

One of Radio Thome FM members revealed that the two were heading back to church when the accident happened.

“Radio Thome FM has been thrown into mourning after two presenters namely Stephen Waigwa alias Stevoh  Chifu and Caroline Nyarwai alias Carol Kams De Luciah confirmed dead in a fatal accident,” a statement from the radio station read in part.

“This happens hours after Radio Thome Fm birthday party celebrating 4 years of broadcast.”

The accident happened around 7:00 pm in the Riandira area in Kirinyaga County.

According to reports, the two were riding a motorcycle when they crashed into an incoming Probox car.

“They were going back to kesha as both were Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) faithful when they were involved in the car crash,” it was reported.

Waigwa was the one who was coordinating the anniversary celebrations but had to cut short his participation to go back to church.

Sadly, the two never got to the house of worship. They were rushed to hospital after the accident only to be confirmed dead on arrival.

Other presenters and listeners who were still celebrating the anniversary had rushed to the scene of the accident in hopes of rescuing their colleagues.

“A day that started as a joyous occasion ended up with our best presenters lying in the mortuary,” one listener mourned.
