National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed has claimed that more members from his ODM party will join the government.
Speaking in Samburu on Monday, July 29, Junet, however, noted that ODM MPs were still members of the party and they will continue to represent the people.
“Some of our ODM members have joined the government; four members. And others will join. But as ODM Members of Parliament, we are still in the party. We are representing the citizens, and we will do our work the way they desire,” Junet remarked.
The Suna East MP further claimed that ODM MPs will oppose the government if it does not work efficiently, despite the fact that ODM members have joined the government.
He noted that the ODM party was still strong under the leadership of Raila Odinga, adding that everyone must be given a chance to feel like a Kenyan.

“We want everyone to feel they are Kenyans. Those who want to work with the government should be given the opportunity. And let no one say that ODM has been ‘swallowed’. There is no party bigger than ODM,” he added.
His remarks came after ODM chairman John Mbadi, Hassan Joho (deputy party leader), Wycliffe Oparanya (deputy party leader) and National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi were nominated to the cabinet.
Meanwhile, President William Ruto denied entering into a coalition with ODM after he nominated the party members into his government.
“We have no formal coalition arrangement. What we have is running an administration on matters that we have agreed with members of ODM so we can put the country first and address challenges that brought Kenya to where it is,” remarked Ruto on Sunday, July 28, during a town hall in Mombasa.
