Royal Media Services journalist at Inooro FM Prof. Ngugi Njoroge is dead.
Veteran radio presenter and political commentator, Prof Ngugi Njoroge passed away on Monday morning.
The renowned journalist Prof Ngugi Njoroge hosted a late-night show named ‘Keera’ at Inooro FM, a station under the umbrella of Royal Media Services.
According to reports from his colleagues at the station and the media fraternity, the professor passed on at his home before dawn.
However, they did not disclose the veteran scholar and journalist’s cause of death.
“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the death of our very own colleague and friend, Prof Ngugi Njoroge who passed away before dawn today,” stated his colleague.
While eulogizing the professor, the station and other leaders noted that he was diligent in his work, and a revered thought leader.
“Heartfelt condolences to Professor Njoroge’s family, colleagues at the Royal Media Services and Inooro TV, friends and relatives for this big loss, ” Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua eulogized the media personality in a post.

Additionally, the Deputy President celebrated the opportunity to have being hosted on the presenter’s show noting that he enjoyed the quality of the discussions.
“I had the privilege of being hosted by Prof Njoroge on this informative show; we enjoyed quality discussions, as was his characteristic. Indeed, he redefined the role of the media in driving development”, stated Gachagua.
On the other hand, Isaac Mwaura, the government spokesperson, mourned the professor as a great connoisseur of local knowledge and history.
His death follows a series of losses to the media fraternity over the past few weeks.
On July 23, vernacular radio presenter Mercy Mawia passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nairobi.
Additionally, in a separate incident, two radio presenters from Thome FM met their untimely death on Saturday following a fatal road accident along Sagana-Makutano Highway.
