Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi and his Mining Counterpart Hassan Joho on Friday announced fresh appointments to their ministries.

In a gazette notice dated September 13, Mbadi announced the appointments of Stephen Ngowa Masha, Rispher Olick, Edwin Njamura and John Njoka as members of the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB).

Mbadi in his announcement, clarified that the four appointees would serve as board members for three years beginning September 13, this year.

The role of the Accounting Standards Board is to provide frameworks and set generally accepted standards for the development and management of accounting and financial systems for government entities.

In equal measure, Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho appointed eight members to the Bomet County Artisanal Mining Committee. 

Joho, while announcing the changes, appointed Benard Tonui, Maurice Amalemba, Samuel Yapai, Weldon Tonui, Lawi Cheruiyot, Sylvanus Too, Samuel Ngang’a and Biliah Chepkirui as members of the Bomet Mining Committee.

According to Joho, the eight will serve as members of the board for the next three years starting September 13 this year.

Similarly, the former Mombasa governor appointed a separate group of people as members of the Artisanal Mining Committee of Nakuru County for three 3 years.

Joho appointed Kennedy Mungai, Maurice Amalemba, Jane Njeri Ng’ang’a, George Gitau Kimani, Simon Saitoti Lekoora and Joseph Kopejo to take up the assignment.

Meanwhile, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos appointed Elisha Biwott to be a member of the Council of the Eldoret National Polytechnic, for three years.

While making the announcement, the CS revealed that the initial appointment of Paul Kimutai Murgor had been revoked.

Health Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa appointed Lucy Wanjiku as a member of the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council, for three years.
