Morara Kebaso explains why he immediately left scene after the Embu accident on Sunday night.
Political activist Morara Kebaso has explained why he was forced to leave the scene where his vehicle was involved in an accident in Embu on Sunday night.
In a statement, Morara said that he left because he feared for his life.
He went on to say that he has too many enemies and cannot guess who exactly is after his life.
“Yesterday after the accident, I disappeared very fast from the scene in another car because sometimes accidents are used to cause confusion so that the real thing can happen. I don’t want to blame anyone without evidence but now I know I am on a clock.
“I have too many enemies to start guessing who can do it. The government officials that we have exposed, the opposition that feels we are taking their space, rising tribal chiefs that feel like our message might dilute their influence, presidential candidates who think I will run against them, contractors who have been paid money and disappeared, sympathetics of the corrupt. The list is endless,” Morara said.
He noted that going forward, he has decided to increase his security.
The activist added that he will also avoid engagements that run into the night.

Morara stated that he is grateful to be alive after the accident.
“I will definitely review my security detail upwards. And I will avoid meetings that spill over into the night. I am grateful to be alive. And I believe its for a reason but also for a season because one day I will still die.”
On Sunday, Morara shared videos on his social media accounts showing his Landcruiser Prado damaged on the right side, after a side collision.
He alleged that the accident had been caused by a drunk driver.
“I have been involved in a road accident side collision in Kivwe Embu County. By a drunk driver,” Morara said.
The activist later on said the driver vanished amidst the confusion.
