My father is a chicken farmer; Charlene Ruto to UN delegates
Charlene Ruto narrates to UN delegates his father’s(President Ruto) humble beginning as a chicken farmer.
President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene Ruto took the President’s hustling image abroad on Sunday when she told a United Nations Summit that her father is a chicken farmer, the foundation of her humble beginnings in Agriculture.
Charlene, while addressing the delegates at the United Nations’ Summit of the Future Action Day in New York, USA, added that her mother, the first lady, is a flower farmer and good with running kitchen gardens.
‘’My father is a chicken farmer while my mother, Rachel Ruto, is a flower farmer and she is great with kitchen farmers and does amazing kitchen gardens,’’ Charlene stated.
The first daughter, who has been the subject of online controversies on her campaigns, also told the delegates that she is a bee farmer, insisting that the business has vast opportunities for young people.
‘’I do beekeeping and sell honey as a business and when I got into the business I realized it has a vast of opportunities for the young people,” she added.
Charlene, who is the founder of Smart Mechanized Agriculture & Climate Action for Humanity & Sustainability (SMACHS), told the delegates that she was motivated to work with other partners to lower the average age of a farmer from the age of 69 to 16 years.
‘’We can work together to change the average age of a farmer in Kenya from 69 to 16 years,’’ she added.
