President William Ruto will travel to South Africa next week for a three-day State Visit hosted by President Cyril Ramaphosa, aimed at strengthening the diplomatic, trade, and investment ties between the two countries.

According to a statement from the South African Presidency, Ruto will undertake the visit from June 3 to June 5, 2026, at Ramaphosa’s invitation.

The centerpiece of the visit will be a formal welcome ceremony at the Union Buildings in Tshwane on Thursday, June 4, followed by bilateral talks between the two heads of state and the signing of several Memoranda of Agreement.

The two leaders will then hold a joint media briefing.

Later in the day, both presidents will participate in the South Africa-Kenya Business Forum at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Johannesburg.

The forum will bring together stakeholders from both countries to discuss expanding economic cooperation, building business partnerships, and unlocking greater trade and investment opportunities in key sectors of mutual interest.

The South African government described Kenya as a strategic partner on the continent, noting that the two countries have enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial relationship since ties were re-established in 1994 following South Africa’s transition to democracy.

“South Africa values Kenya as a strategic partner in the East African region and the continent,” the Presidency said.

During the official talks, the two leaders are expected to explore ways of deepening cooperation across various sectors and strengthening collaboration on regional and continental priorities.
