A multimillion company of a former Mt Kenya MP set for auction

Auctioneers announces the sale of a macadamia company belonging to Former Thika MP Kimani Wainaina popularly known as Jungle. 

According to a notice posted in the dailies, the company is located in Makongeni, Thika Town in Kiambu County. 

The company auctioning the property stated that it measured 2.5 acres and has three developed blocks of terraced double-span warehouses. 

Other infrastructure include; a sentry, control rooms and a shared canopy shed. 

“Other improvements include; a prefabricated shipping container office,  prefabricated steel mesh sheds, enclosures and paved parking/loading zone/circulatory,” the auction notice read in part. 

Plant machinery that will be auctioned together with the property include; a nut pasteurisation line, macadamia nut pasteuriser and nut packing line comprising commercial nut cracking machines. 

Additionally, manual stucker, heli forklift truck, deep chamber vacuum packing machines, electronic platform scale and caterpillar forklift will also be sold alongside the property.

The successful bidder will also gain ownership of hopper chuff remover, colour sorters, honest compressor and nut conveyors.

“Bidders will be required to produce a bidding deposit of Ksh10 million by way of cash or bankers’ cheque before being allowed to bid,” interested buyers were told. 

The factory belonging to the politician was stated to have a leasehold interest for a term of 99 years. 

Additionally, it was reported to have accrued land rates of Ksh117,458 as of September 1, 2023. 

Wainaina served as Thika Town Member of Parliament (MP) before unsuccessfully vying for the Kiambu gubernatorial post in 2022 where he lost to Kimani Wamatangi.
