Police in Nairobi are holding a woman believed to have drugged a foreigner in the city before robbing him of cash and mobile gadgets.
Identified as Consolata Nyangai, the woman is suspected of stupefying a Chadian national whom she was revelling with in Gemini and Quivers clubs.
The victim filed a plaint at the Kilimani Police Station whose offices immediately embarked on a probe that would culminate in the suspect’s arrest.
The foreigner went with Nyangai to his house where he was robbed.
“The victim alleged to have retreated to his residence located at Spring Gardens Apartments in the company of his catch, Consolata, having downed several shots of their choice frothy waters,” the DCI said.
In his plaint, the Chadian claimed he was robbed of USD 4,000 (equivalent to Sh 520,000) Sh 10,000, a Samsung S20 and a Corn C105 phone before disappearing.
Relying on their forensic analysis of the evidence filed by the victim, the DCI detectives traced Nyangai to her hideout in the Hunters area of Kasarani sub-county, Nairobi.
The officers found her with the phones the victim had reported about.

The detectives further established that the suspect had used the proceeds of her crime to purchase pricey household commodities, among them a television set and an electronic cooker.
“Notable around Consolata’s base was a newly purchased 75″ Samsung TV worth Sh 107,000 as per the receipts, and a Ramtons cooker worth Sh 55,000. The items, both of which were purchased after the incident, are believed to be proceeds of crime,” the police said.
Also in her possession were two national identity cards, Kenyan and Ugandan, suggesting further serious involvement in criminal acts.
The suspect, currently detained at the Kilimani Police Station, is set to be arraigned on Monday, November 18.
In its advisory, the DCI cautioned the public to be vigilant, especially in social avenues where criminals tend to target celebrants in the approaching festivity season.
