EACC nominates candidate to replace CEO Twalib Mbarak
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has nominated Deputy CEO Abdi Mohamud to succeed Twalib Mbarak whose tenure comes to an end this year.
In a statement dated Saturday, November 23, EACC Chairperson Bishop David Oginde detailed that Mohamud emerged as the best candidate following a thorough recruitment conducted in recent weeks.
Consequently, his name was forwarded to the National Assembly and is set to be vetted and approved by MPs.
“The Commission wishes to inform the public that following a competitive recruitment process, Mr. Abdi Ahmed Mohamud, MBS has been considered as the nominee for the position of Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission,” read the statement in part.

Currently, he serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of EACC.
Before becoming the Deputy CEO, he worked as the Director of investigation at the EACC for 10 years.
“He started his law enforcement career in 1989 as a Cadet Inspector at the National Police Service and later joined the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (KACC) (now EACC) in 2005 as a Senior Officer in charge of the Commission’s Rapid Response Division,” read the statement in part.
“Mohamud is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a seasoned investigator with over 30 years of experience investigating corruption and economic crimes. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Security and Risk Management.”
