Family of men sprayed with bullets recounts the last moment of their loved ones

The families of 2 men, among the 4 sprayed with bullets in Buru Buru say one of the victims had left to shop for his daughter's birthday present
The families of 2 men, among the 4 sprayed with bullets in Buru Buru say one of the victims had left to shop for his daughter’s birthday present.
According to family members who spoke to a section of the press, two of the victims were cousins named Julius Mwangi and Brian Mwangi.
They stated that the two were known for selling second-hand clothes (mitumba) and the other one was a scrap metal dealer.
Both their businesses were based in the Eastlands area.
Before they were gunned down, one had left their home to shop for his daughter’s birthday present.
“We stayed with him the whole day before he told me that he wanted to get gifts for her daughter whose birthday was slated for December 25,” Brian’s mother stated.
“I was shocked after learning that my son was shot 40 times. We could not easily identify the body, but his gold teeth helped us.”
According to Julius’ family, the deceased who was a metal dealer had informed them that he was traveling to their rural home in Gitaru that fateful day.
“We spoke during the day and he told me he was going to our rural home. So I added him some money,” Julius’ mother stated.
They however called for investigations to establish why their sons were murdered in Buruburu.

On the other hand, the mother of the second deceased revealed that she last saw her son on December 23 after she advanced to him working capital to operate his mitumba business.
When she called him a few days later, he did not pick up. At this point, she assumed the son was busy and would call back later like he typically did, but that did not happen.
Unfortunately, she got the news that her son had passed on leaving her devastated and in shock.
“Everyone makes a mistake and if there was a problem there is the law, if they had wronged anyone why couldn’t the matter be taken to the police? They had not stolen the car, and no gun was found in the vehicle so why spray them with bullets?” the heartbroken mother posed.
The bodies of the other two are yet to be identified.
Commenting on the matter, Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are investigating the shooting and had not established the motive and those behind it.
“We were called by neighbours who heard the gunshots and mistook it to be fireworks only to find the bodies there,” he said.
