Police in Kisii have arrested a female terror suspect at a lodging facility.
Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kases said they had handed over the suspect to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) for questioning.
“A member of the public reported to the police that a woman of Borana origin had been staying in a room at the Black and White Lodging in Kisii Town for the past three weeks,” Mr Kases said.
The commander explained that the woman, aged 49, stayed in her room during the day.
“But she seemed to be active at night. Her nocturnal activities were not very clear,” Mr Kases said.

The county police boss revealed that after receiving a tip-off about the woman’s activities, the police swung into action and arrested her.
She claimed to be from Isiolo County.
The officers escorted the terror suspect to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) offices for investigations.
However, she could not provide satisfactory reasons for her stay or any identification documents.
“She could not provide satisfactory reasons for her stay, nor did she have any documents. The case is currently under investigation,” police noted.
