Former IEBC Commissioner shortlisted for Police Commission chairperson job

Former IEBC Commissioner Margaret Wanjala Mwachanya has been shortlisted for the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) chairperson job

Former IEBC Commissioner Margaret Wanjala Mwachanya has been shortlisted for the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) chairperson job.

As revealed in a notice published on Saturday, March 15, Mwachanya was shortlisted alongside nine candidates.

She is expected to appear before the interview panel on Tuesday, March 25, at 11 am.

Mwachanya served in the Electoral Body during the 2017 General Election. She resigned alongside other commissioners after a fallout with former IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati.

Besides the former commissioner, other shortlisted candidates include Kizito Wangalwa Osore, Doreen Nkatha Muthaura, Micah Pkopus Powon, Humphrey Kimani Njuguna and Susan Khakasa Oyatsi.

John Mutegi Muriungi, Komora Mabudi Jilo and John Otieno Ondego were also shortlisted.

The 9 are seeking to replace Eliud N. Kinuthia, whose term is coming to an end.

The successful candidate will be tasked with leading the commission, which is responsible for determining remuneration and benefits and benefits of the police service and staff of the commission in consultation with the SRC.
