Liverpool squad to face Norwich City after Diogo Jota injury at Anfield in the Premier League.
When Liverpool takes on Norwich City at Anfield on Saturday, the Reds are expected to have practically their whole team available.
Jurgen Klopp’s team will have the chance to keep the pressure on league leaders Manchester City while also extending their seven-game winning streak in all competitions.
Diogo Jota was substituted at half-time and was pictured wearing a protective boot as the team left Milan.
Klopp has said the 25-year-old will not be available to face the Canaries.
“(He) is not available this week and still needs further assessment,” Liverpool boss Klopp said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“It is something with the ligaments around the ankle, but not the ankle.
Everyone saw him in the boot the other day, but we have to wait.
“For the weekend, for sure not. We need further assessment.
“It’s something with the ligaments around the ankle. Everything is possible. It could go quick or the other way. We have to wait but no chance for this weekend.”
Klopp has warned that despite having his entire team available for Liverpool’s last two games, he may face further fitness difficulties before to kick-off.
Injury niggles usually appear two days after a high-intensity game, according to the German coach, a point in recovery that the players had not reached at the time of the news conference.
Speaking about how he feels about making the tough calls to leave players out of the squad, Klopp admitted that the players are not making it an easy decision.
“It’s the part I like least. It’s easy if boys give me reasons. None of these players deserves it so far,” he said.
“All the decisions are really difficult. I don’t like it but it’s part of it. But there might be a chance you start next week.
“Be angry or disappointed with me, no problem. But show up. Make the decisions difficult and don’t drop in training.
