Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has confirmed that he is preparing to unveil a new political party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking on Sunday, February 9, Gachagua revealed that the official unveiling is set for May 2025, after which party offices will be opened across the country.
“Our vehicle is ready. It is in the showroom, a brand-new vehicle.
However, I will not name the number plate and its colour. Our enemies might sabotage its launch but we will unveil in May 2025 and we will start opening offices and allow all Kenyans to join,” he said.
“We know there is a plan to launch more political parties to confuse the region. We are aware that there are plans for some of these parties to have presidential candidates to divide the region. We say it during Moi time, 1992, there was Matiba, Kibaki and Moi won.”
“We are doing everything to identify such parties and tell our people which presidential candidates have been planted.”

Gachagua also spoke about his reasons for visiting Martha Karua.
“I went to Martha Karua Gichugu’s place. And the reason is, I have realised I can’t win this political battle alone,” he said.
“Karua is a strong person, a strong defender of the region, that’s why I went. And she received us very well. We will be there during the relaunch of her party.”
The former DP also stated that he had been instructed by elders to bring unity in the region.
Speaking about his new party that he would unveil in May, Gachagua stated “Our party has no colour yellow. It has no wheelbarrow symbol.”
He also stated that he was officially removed from the position he had in UDA.
“But I will soon officially leave,” Gachagua stated.
