Gachagua state security withdrawn in feud with Ruto

Rigathi Gachagua decries state security withdrawn on the accusation of sponsoring dissent against President William Ruto’s government.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed that the state has now completely withdrawn his security, accusing him of sponsoring dissent against President William Ruto’s government.
This comes as confidential sources in the Interior Ministry claimed “serious powers in this country want Gachagua curtailed from throwing the country into an early campaign mood, to help the government implement development projects”.
The sources added that Gachagua appears determined to lead a rebellion against the government, hence he must be checked.
The source further stated that “our seniors from high offices have directed us to treat Gachagua in a manner that does not give him much space to roam the country”.
Gachagua, through his private secretary Munene wa Mumbi, stated that trouble started after Ruto was booed in a Catholic church two weekends ago in Embu county.
The former DP attended the church function alongside Ruto but overshadowed his former boss when the gathering celebrated him with wild cheers.

“Then followed last Friday’s incident in Murang’a County during the burial of Mark Wainaina (nominated MCA), when mourners refused to have the President’s and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s condolence speeches read,” Mumbi said.
He added that when Gachagua visited Murang’a county, where he worshipped at Kangari AIPCA church, the two remaining guards were withdrawn.
“It is true that, as we speak, Gachagua has no single security officer provided by the government. When we enquired from government offices, we were told that Gachagua must cease political activities,” Mumbi responded.
“What if some criminal grouping abducted Gachagua and forcibly extracted that information from him? It is standard practice to provide security for life for such government officials,” he said.
