The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced a number of job opportunities in public universities across the country

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced a number of job opportunities in public universities across the country.

In a notice on Tuesday, November 26, PSC invited qualified candidates to apply for the vacant positions.

“Pursuant to the provisions of Section 35(1)(a)(v) of the Universities Act, 2012, amended through Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act No. 18 of 2018, the Public Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following vacant positions in public universities,” read part of the notice.

They include the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Infrastructure) positions for the Open University of Kenya.

Similarly, the PSC invited qualified applicants for the roles of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs, Research, and Innovation) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance, and Planning) at Multimedia University.

Additionally, the commission advertised the positions of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Finance) at Kenyatta University and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance, and Planning) at Meru University.

PSC noted that the details of the positions and mode of application are accessible on the commission’s website, i.e., www.publicservice.go.ke.

The deadline for submitting applications is December 17, 2024, by 5:00 p.m. at the latest.

Meanwhile, the commission announced the cancellation of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs, Research, and Innovation) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance, and Planning) positions at Multimedia University, which were advertised on November 16, 2023.

PSC encouraged candidates who had submitted their applications for the roles to make fresh applications.
