Government issues directive to Huduma Centers over SHA registration
Public Service CS Justin Muturi has directed all Huduma Centers to establish desks for the Social Health Authority (SHA) registration.
In a statement dated Monday, December 2, the CS noted that there had been confusion among Kenyans over the new health cover.
Consequently, he explained that the desks would enable Kenyans to get services related to the new health insurance coverage.
Apart from registration, the special desks will also help Kenyans seek information regarding SHA.
“I recognize that there has been confusion around SHIF and the Social Health Authority (SHA),” read the statement in part.

SHA, a plan developed by President William Ruto’s government, was officially rolled out on October 1, 2024.
As of November 21, 14 million Kenyans had registered for the new health cover dubbed as Taifa Care. Additionally, to drive up the uptake, the government rolled out door-to-door registration.
