Until his untimely death, Ogembo was the presiding judge at Siaya High  Court.

Siaya County Governor James Orengo led the nation in mourning the judge.

“Justice Ogembo had a marvellous ability to listen intently, reflect quietly and then interject, usually with a brief few words that brought clarity in the courtroom. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he mourned.

According to his driver, the Judge had on Tuesday afternoon complained he was not feeling well despite honouring his work calendar.

After he did not pick up his calls and texts on Wednesday morning, the driver sought help to break into his home and check on the Judge.

While the Judge stayed on the residential property alone, his family was notified and rushed to the scene to open the house and confirm the body.

Police officers also arrived on the scene and took his body to the mortuary for autopsy.
