Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) announces JKIA runway closure after faulty plane attempts landing.
The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) airport has been closed temporarily, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced.
In a statement on Tuesday, June 11, KAA said there was a plane incident on the runway of the international airport.
The authority noted that no injuries have been reported from the plane incident so far.
The removal of the aircraft from the JKIA runway is underway.

KAA apologized to travelers who have been affected due to the closure of the airport’s runway.
“An aircraft Incident has caused runway closure at JKIA. No injuries have been reported. Removal of the aircraft is underway. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and will provide updates shortly,” KAA announced.
When an airport runway is closed, flights might be delayed, rerouted, or canceled, depending on the severity and duration of the closure.
Air traffic controllers work to manage the situation and minimize disruptions.
