Jorge Mendes upset with Manchester City over Ruben Dias transfer

Jorge Mendes remains upset with Manchester City over Ruben Dias transfer in the summer of 2020.

The super-agent has not received what he perceives as sufficient commission from the deal, according to reports.

Ruben Dias made a big-money move from Benfica to Man City and has become a key figure.

The centre-back arrived to the Etihad from Benfica almost 18 months ago.

Several clubs were interested in signing the Portuguese international, but City emerged victorious in the contest for his services as they sought to shore up their defense.

Dias’ agent, Mendes, assisted in the transaction with the English champions.

A Bola, on the other hand, understands that he expected a commission on €71 million, but only received it on €50 million.

Jorge Mendes, who was due a 10% share, says he is nearly €2 million short.

According to reports, the real worth of the deal is €50 million, while the other sum is the declared value.

Mendes represents a number of players that are now playing for City under Pep Guardiola.

Dias was instrumental in City’s title triumph last season, winning the FWA Player of the Year award as a result of his performances.

Guardiola’s team had a stretch of 11 games in which they only conceded twice.

Dias, who is now widely regarded as England’s greatest defender, has once again played a significant role alongside Aymeric Laporte.

So far in the league, City has shipped a league-high 13 times in 22 games.

Dias, along with club partner Kevin De Bruyne, was nominated to the FIFPro World XI this week. The defender began his first season by recalling two memorable moments.

“There are definitely two moments I will not forget [from 2021]”, he claimed.

“Winning the Premier League – the day we lifted the trophy and the Champions League final- even though it didn’t end the way we wanted, I can’t forget the way we got there, to make that run was unforgettable”
