Kalonzo endorses Richard Ngatia for Nairobi Governor, proposes Prof. Philip Kaloki as running mate

Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has endorsed Richard Ngatia for Nairobi Governor and proposed Prof. Philip Kaloki running mate under the Azimio One Kenya coalition

Richard Ngatia, who is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, had earlier been touted to win the Jubilee Party and Azimio La Umoja gubernatorial ticket.

According to sources privy to the ongoings, former Kibwezi Member of Parliament Prof. Philip Kaloki has been suggested to take up the position of Ngatia’s running mate, shelving his bid for the Makueni governor race.

The Wiper leader endorsed Ngatia for Nairobi Governor during the issuing Wiper Party direct nomination ticket to Wavinya Ndeti.

Wavinya Ndeti will run for the Machakos Governor seat in the August 9th General election; after Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau shelved his gubernatorial ambition.

The former Kathiani MP will now battle it out with former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita (Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU)), Deputy Governor Francis Maliti (Maendeleo Chap Chap), and former Senator Johnson Muthama (UDA).

Speaking on Friday at the party’s command centre in Karen, Nairobi, Kalonzo endorsed Prof Phillip Kaloki for consideration in the Nairobi gubernatorial nominations under the Azimio-One Kenya coalition.

Businessman Richard Ngatia who also graced the event welcomed the move saying that a consensus would be undertaken to ensure the Azimio faction field was the best candidate.
