Kalonzo reveals why Waititu was arrested

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has claimed that former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was arrested over remarks he made at an event in Ruiru
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has claimed that former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was arrested over remarks he made at an event in Ruiru.
Speaking outside DCI headquarters on Monday, September 30, the former vice president alleged that the remarks made at Ruiru did not sit well with unnamed individuals.
However, he did not detail what the former county boss stated at the event.
“Yesterday after Kitengela, we drove to Ruiru. There is an artist who was launching a wonderful composition,” the opposition leader detailed.
“We are told that Waititu said some things there which did not please some people. We want to tell those people that shame on you.”
Further, he termed Waititu’s arrest as an abduction, calling out the government for using security agencies for politics.

Kalonzo demanded that the agencies follow the law when making arrests.
“Any arrest like that of Waititu is nothing short of an abduction. It does not follow due process. They should have gone to court and obtained orders,” Kalonzo remarked.
Waititu was arrested on Monday by officers from DCI.
Following the arrest, Kalonzo alongside other officials from Azimio visited DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road demanding to see him and secure his release.
However, they were denied access to the DCI office.
The DCI is yet to issue a statement on the arrest.
