Kenya back to the dark days of Kanu; Kabando

Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando claims that Kenya is going back to the days of Kanu rule

Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando claims that Kenya is going back to the days of Kanu rule.

Kabando asserted in a statement on Wednesday that the country is presently witnessing characteristics that were typical of the Kanu rule.

He claimed that schools are now being asked to take children to events to cheer President William Ruto.

In addition, Kabando claimed that the Kenyan Central Bank and National Treasury are under the jurisdiction of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

Ruto administration has been consulting the World Bank and IMF, in efforts to restructure the country’s debt and how it can work around raising more revenue from citizens.

The former MP insisted that because of incompetence, nothing could stop the wave of rebellion against the Ruto administration.

Kabando’s reaction was in response to crowds that had gathered for Tuesday’s Jamhuri Day celebrations at Uhuru Gardens that kept on cheering Ruto, from the time he arrived.

It is alleged school school-going children were ferried to the venue to cheer President Ruto during the celebrations.

In addition, some of the people in the crowd that attended the national fete were seen carrying umbrellas with colours coordinated to resemble the colours of the Kenyan flag.

Kabando who backed the Azimio coalition in the run-up to the August 2022 general election has remained a fierce critic of the Ruto administration since they got into office.

He vied for the Nyeri senate seat using the Narc Kenya party but lost to a UDA candidate.
