Kenya Met issues 24-hr rainfall advisory
The Kenya Met Department has issued its rainfall projection for Nairobi and its environs expected in the next 24 hours.
In a statement dated Tuesday, November 19, Kenya Met noted that rainfall would range from light to moderate between Tuesday and Wednesday, November 20.
Some parts of the Nairobi metropolis will also receive heavy rainfall during the 24 hours.
Therefore, city residents were advised to prepare adequately for the weather conditions such as carrying umbrellas and dressing warmly.

“From 9 am Tuesday 19th to 9 am Wednesday 20th November 2024: Light to moderate rainfall is expected across various areas within the metropolis, with isolated heavy rainfall and storms likely in some regions,” read the advisory in part.
“Residents are strongly advised to stay weather-aware and prepared for potential disruptions.”
Some of the Nairobi estates that will experience significant rainfall within the 24 hours include parts of Lang’ata, Kamukunji, Embakasi East and Embakasi South.
Significant rainfall was also projected for Dagoretti South and North, Westlands and Roysambu.
Parts of Juja, Kiamba, Kabete, Limuru, Ruiru and Kiambu Town will also experience significant rainfall during the 24 hours.
