Liverpool have secret Salah successor plan in place
2 min readLiverpool have secret Salah successor plan in place; Diogo Jota revealed which Reds star will soon take over.
Salah, who is 29 years old, is Liverpool’s most dangerous attacking weapon. Salah remains Liverpool’s top scorer this season, despite a rare barren stretch from open play that was ultimately broken against Manchester United on Tuesday.
With Salah’s contract dispute continuing to simmer on, Liverpool fans have grown increasingly concerned.
The Egyptian has made it clear that he wants to stay at Anfield.
Despite his denials to FourFourTwo, the hold-up is thought to be related to money.
The contract of the winger is set to expire in the summer of 2023. Mane and Firmino’s contracts will expire at the same time, implying that Liverpool will be searching for more Luis Diaz-style deals sooner than many believe.

Liverpool have secret Salah successor
If Diogo Jota’s words are to be believed, Liverpool may already have a suitable successor for Mo Salah on their books.
The Portuguese was asked which Liverpool player would “take over the Champions League” during an interview with PlayStation.
Without hesitation, Jota replied: “Kaide Gordon. His future looks great.”
The 17-year-old was snapped up from Derby County in 2021 for an initial £1m fee that could rise to £3m.
Gordon has already made two EFL Cup appearances for Liverpool this season, and he made his Premier League debut against Brentford in January.
Gordon, like Salah, is a left-footed right winger, and Jota isn’t the only one who sees him as a future star.
Prior to Gordon’s start against Arsenal in the EFL Cup on January 20, Jurgen Klopp said: “He is an outstanding talent.
“He is always in my mind as long as he is fit.”
Liverpool’s recruitment has been heralded in recent years with their hit-rate on big-money acquisitions unparalleled.
Harvey Elliott has taken great strides forward this season after arriving from Fulham in 2019.
The Reds have recently wrapped up a second deal with the Cottagers for 19-year-old Fabio Carvalho who will arrive in the summer.
