Man United trigger one-year contract extensions for four players including Marcus Rashford, manager Erik ten Hag said.
The contracts of Rashford, Diogo Dalot, Fred, and Luke Shaw were all in their final year, but they all had the option to extend them by an additional year.
Under new manager Ten Hag, Rashford has found his form again, playing 20 games across all competitions and scoring nine goals.
Additionally, Dalot, Fred, and Shaw have each made more than 15 appearances throughout all tournaments.
“Yes, I can confirm it,” Ten Hag told the club’s website in an excerpt from an interview to be published on Tuesday.
“We are happy because the squad is going in the right direction and those players (have) a massive contribution in that direction. We want to develop, we want to support those players and we want them to keep in our process.
“So, that’s why we came to those decisions, I’m sure they are the right decisions. We want to construct a team for the future, so for long years, and those players have to be part of it.”
With a comparable possibility for an extension, goalkeeper David de Gea, who is also in the final year of his contract, has not yet reached an arrangement with the club.
Ten Hag expressed his optimism that the Spaniard will remain at Old Trafford in October.
United will play Nottingham Forest, who are currently in 18th place in the Premier League rankings in the next premier league match.
