Google Trends is a free tool that reveals relative search volume across countries, time periods, and questions that people are interested in learning more about.

Google Trends allows you to dig deep into what’s trending on the web, allowing you to compare search data over time, region, and query.

On Google in 2021, Mukhisa Kituyi is the most searched Kenyan individual.

Kituyi is a seasoned politician and former UN Conference on Trade and Development Secretary-General (UNCTAD).

Even while his enthusiasm appears to have waned, Kenyans’ interest in him may have grown after he announced his intention to run for president earlier this year.

Kituyi, a former Makerere University graduate and former Kimilili congressman and Trade Minister, also made headlines when he was accused of assaulting a woman.

After a contentious video of him went viral on social media, he was forced to release a statement.

The politician denounced the video in a statement on his official Facebook account, saying it was altered and modified with the intention of discouraging him from succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

“As a result, I suspect the digitally edited film going round on social media and claims to show my private parts.

It isn’t a true picture of my private organs in any way. I wish to disassociate myself from such nasty misleading and untrue stories that are aimed at suffocating my political career “‘Part of his statement reads,’ he said.

Other popular figures in Kenya include retiring President Mwai Kibaki, who turned 90 last November, and Martha Koome, the country’s first female Chief Justice, who came in third.

Following his success in the Tokyo Olympics, marathoner Eliud Kipchoge was fourth on the log.

Deputy President William Ruto, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, former Attorney General Charles Njonjo, Dagoretti South MP Simba Arati, Africa’s fastest man in the men’s 100m race Ferdinand Omanyala, and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria also made the list in numerical order.
