A horrific fire in Kisumu’s Manyatta area burnt a mother and her three children death in a suspected arson attack.

According to witnesses recounting the terrifying ordeal, an unidentified man reportedly doused their home with petrol before setting it ablaze.

The inferno, which erupted late Wednesday night, claimed the lives of two adults and two minors.

As flames consumed the iron-sheet structures, desperate cries for help echoed through the night, but the blaze proved too fierce and swift for any rescue attempts.

First responders from the Kasagam police station were alerted to the scene along the Nairobi-Nyamasaria Road.

Despite their swift arrival, the fire had already spread to approximately 20 houses, leaving a trail of destruction and despair.

A fire engine battled the flames, but it was only after the inferno was subdued that the charred remains of the victims were discovered.

The cause of the fire remains shrouded in mystery. Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation, but no official statements have been released.

Locals, however, are demanding answers and swift justice for the heinous act that has shattered a family and disrupted the lives of many.

Meanwhile, the fire has left several families homeless, compounding the tragedy.

Displaced residents have sought temporary refuge in a local church, but they are in dire need of food and shelter.

This devastating incident has not only claimed lives but has also highlighted the vulnerabilities faced by residents of the Manyatta B area.

The community, already grappling with economic hardships, now faces the added burden of rebuilding amidst their grief.

As investigators comb through the charred remains for clues, the community is left to mourn the senseless loss of life and the traumatic disruption caused by the fire.
