Newly employed JSS teacher dies by suicide in Bomet

A 38-year-old man who was recently employed as a Junior Secondary School (JSS) teacher in Nakuru County has died by suicide in Kabisimba area, Chepalungu in Bomet County
A 38-year-old man who was recently employed as a Junior Secondary School (JSS) teacher in Nakuru County has died by suicide in Kabisimba area, Chepalungu in Bomet County.
The lifeless body of the teacher was found hanging inside the rooftop of a toilet within his homestead.
According to a police report, the wife of the deceased Nelly Bett alleged that her husband left the house in the wee hours of the morning to visit the latrine but never returned to the house.
The silence prompted her to inquire, only to find her husband’s body hanging inside the toilet.

Chepalungu sub-county police boss Phanton Analo confirmed the incident saying the deceased’s body had no physical injuries apart from bruised lips occasioned by his struggle during the incident.
The reasons for the incident are yet to be established since no suicide note was recovered after a search.
The body has since been moved to Longisa Hospital mortuary.
