Revealed! How ODM planned the attack on Kalonzo Musyoka
ODM MP says goons’ attack on Kalonzo Musyoka during Azimio presser was intentional and well planned.
Nyaribari Masaba MP Daniel Manduku now says the violence meted out on Wiper leader Kalonzo Muysoka was deliberately deployed.
Speaking on Citizen TV in a Thursday morning interview, MP Manduku said the chaos was intentional and aimed at scaring dissenting Azimio La Umoja principals opposed to the national dialogue bringing together the government and the opposition.
The lawmaker was concerned that the show at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation indicated that the opposition was already dead and warming up to the government.
“Yesterday we were at the ODM and Azimio La Umoja Parliamentary meetings. And I want to say that, for all intents and purposes, the opposition is dead because we want to work with the government. That is a problem that caused some goons to come and disrupt the Azimio presser. You ask yourself, we are not in government yet; we are in the opposition; we are supposed to check the government and work with it. It becomes a bit messy,” said Manduku.
Kalonzo was reading a speech on behalf of Raila Odinga when disruptors showed up and started throwing chairs around.
This came at the tail-end of the Azimio Parliamentary Group meeting, which was called on Wednesday, July 18, to deliberate on the proposed national dialogue bringing together the government and the opposition to address the issues bedeviling Kenyans who have lately been on the streets.

The ODM leader had left the meeting for other engagements when goons disrupted Kalonzo media presser.
They were heard ordering the leaders to leave the podium, saying the meeting was over. “Get out, everyone out, the meeting is over,” they were heard saying.
All the other Azimio member parties are opposed to ODM’s resolve to engage the government in addressing the issues raised by the Kenyan youth.
In their respective pressers, the party leaders vowed to sideline themselves from the process.
On record are DAP-K’s Eugene Wamalwa, Martha Karua (Narc Kenya), Jeremiah Kioni (Jubilee), and Kalonzo of Wiper.
The Raila-led Orange party, on its part, agreed to the calls for engagements with the government.
