Ruto CSs make new appointments in several ministries

CSs Joho, Wandayi, Duale, and Chirchir make fresh appointments in their ministries.

Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi and his Mining Counterpart Hassan Joho on Friday announced fresh appointments to their dockets.

In a gazette notice dated September 27, Joho announced the appointments of Kennedy Mungai, Maurice Amalemba and Jane Njeri Ng’ang’a, to be members of the Nakuru County Artisinal Mining Committee.

Similarly, the CS appointed Mathew Kiptum Keter, Eliud Biwott, Felix Kipkemei Ng’etich, Sylvanus Too, Sally Kiboss and Simon Rotich to be members of the Nandi County Artisinal Mining Committee, for three years.

Others appointed as members to the same committee included; Sylvanus Too, Joseph M. Kopejo, Wycliffe Chepkwony, George Gitau Kimani and Simon Saitoti Lekoora.

Joho in his announcement, stated that the appointees would serve as board members for three years beginning September 10, this year.

In equal measure, CS Wandayi appointed Lilian Bokeeye Mahiri-Zaja and Henry Gathara Karinga as members of the Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited Board.

According to the CS, the duo will serve in their new roles for three years, effective September 27, 2024.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir also announced changes in his ministry after he appointed Philip Salau Mpaayei and Peter Gathenya Githinji, to be members of the Board of the Kenya Railways Corporation.

In the gazette notice, Chirchir appointed the two members for three years, with effect from October 5, this year.

Meanwhile, Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale also appointed David Njuguna Njoroge as a member of the National Environmental Tribunal, for three years, starting September 27, 2024.

The latest appointments come hardly a week after CSs Joho and Mbadi announced new appointments to their ministries.

Joho during a recent presser vowed to take radical steps to streamline internal and external factors and optimise mineral investments’ potential for increased revenue generation.
