President William Ruto on Tuesday, November 12, nominated former IEBC chairperson Issack Hassan as IPOA chair.
In a notice shared by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, Hassan was nominated to be the chair of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).
“The nominee is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 30 years of experience as a legal practitioner and consultant in various countries including Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Namibia, and Afghanistan.
“Mr. Hassan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Diploma in Contemporary Public Administration Management from Galilee International Management Institute, Israel,” read the statement in part.
Also nominated to IPOA as members of the Authority were Ann Wanjiku Mwangi, Micah Onyiego Nyakego, Boniface Kipkemoi Samati, Annette Mbogoh, John Muchiri Nyaga, Kenwilliams Nyakomitah and Jackline Lukalo Mwenesi.
At SRC, Ruto nominated Sammy Chepkwony as the new chairperson set to replace Lyn Mengich.
“Mr. Chepkwony is currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at People Centric Management Limited. He began his career as a senior consultant at PriceWaterHouse Coopers (PWC) Kenya,” read the statement in part.
“Since then, he has held various senior positions as Chairperson at Tata Chemicals Magadi Provident Fund, Human Resources Director at Kenya Airways Ltd, James Finlay Kenya Ltd and Human Resource Manager at Nairobi Bottlers Ltd.”
Also nominated to SRC were Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Martin Kizito Ong’oyi, CBS (Nominee of the Defence Council), Mr Mohamed Aden Abdi (Nominee of the Senate on behalf of County Governments), Ms Jane Gatakaa Njage (Nominee of TSC) and Mr Leonid Ashindu (Nominee of the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA).
Others were Dr Gilda Odera (Nominee of the Federation of Kenya Employers and Dr Geoffrey Apollo Omondi (Nominee of COTU).

National Gender and Equality Commission
Hon. Rehema Dida Jaldesa was nominated by the Head of State as the chairperson while Michael Nzomo was nominated as a Member of the Commission.
Commission of Administrative Justice (CAJ)
Ruto nominated Charles Orinda Dulo as the chairperson.
Musician Charles Njagua Kanyi alias Jaguar and Ms Dorothy Jemator Kimengech were named as members of the commission.

Meanwhile, the President nominated Gerald Nyaoma Arita as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya.
“The nominee is a career central banker with 36 years of professional experience and is the outgoing Director of the Bank Supervision Department at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK),” read the statement in part.
Nyaoma has previously held various positions within the Central Bank of Kenya, including: Director, Financial Markets Development; Director, Banking Services; Director, Bank Supervision Department; Acting Director, Internal Audit Department; Senior Manager, National Payment Services Division; and Assistant Branch Manager, Mombasa Branch, among others.
