Police launch investigations after bodies of father and daughter found inside their house in Nyeri.

Police officers in Othaya, Nyeri County are investigating a tragic incident where a father and a daughter were hacked to death inside their house by unknown assailants.

The bodies of the man aged 86 and his daughter aged 56 were found lying in a pool of blood and nursing critical injuries.

While narrating the incident, one of the neighbours claimed he heard screams emanating from the house, prompting him to alert other neighbours to help quell the situation.

According to the witness, upon accessing the house, he found the man’s body lying on a seat inside the house while the daughter’s body was found inside the kitchen.

“I found blood spilt all over as it was like the man was warming himself and when I went to the kitchen I found the lady’s body also in a pool of blood forcing me to inform the police,” narrated one of the locals.

According to another neighbour, the deceased persons bodies had several cuts, particularly on the upper part of the body including the head.

“The woman sustained cuts on the hands and the head, her hair was also plucked out while the man sustained cuts only on the head,” narrated another witness.

The two were rushed to the Moi Hospital but succumbed to the injuries while receiving treatment.

While confirming the incident, the Othaya Officer in charge of a Police District (OCPD) stated that a probe had already been launched. By the time of publishing this article, the victims employees were the main suspects in the case.

The latest incident comes hardly five days after two bodies believed to be of a couple were discovered decomposing inside a house in Makueni County.

The deceased bodies were discovered by curious neighbours who reported a foul smell emanating from the house, forcing them to alert the police.

According to a police report, the woman’s body was found lying on a chair with a stab wound while the man’s body was found hanging from the ceiling.
