Uhuru announces new venue for Jubilee NDC meeting after being denied Bomas and other public places

Uhuru announces new venue for Jubilee NDC meeting after being denied Bomas and other public places.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced a new venue for the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference.

In a notice on Saturday, Uhuru said the new venue for the delegates’ conference will be at Ngong Race Course in Nairobi.

“Notice is hereby given that the venue of the Jubilee NDC has been moved to Ngong Race Course, Nairobi. All other details remain as per the notice published on April 29,” Uhuru said in a new notice.

The delegates’ conference was slated for May 22.

The conference was called by Uhuru as a result of protracted disputes within the Jubilee party.

The Bomas of Kenya, the Kasarani Indoor Auditorium, and the ASK Show Ground Hall were the locations where Jubilee intended to conduct the conference.

However, the management refused the party access to all of these locations, citing ongoing repairs.

Jubilee party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni had termed the alleged attempts to deny them the avenue for the NDC as an expensive experiment on multiparty democracy.

Kioni on Thursday claimed the Kenya Kwanza was attempting to interfere with the Jubilee party.

“The Kenya Kwanza regime wants to take away this jealousy-protected right. The Jubilee Party NDC scheduled for May 22 remains on course,” he said.

Kioni said no amount of intimidation, coercion and frustration will derail their course to safeguard the Party.

He said they are in touch with the party delegates and have secured alternative venues for the NDC.

Meanwhile, Uhuru through Kioni has called out EALA MP Kanini Kega for expelling him from the party.

Addressing the media on Friday May 19, Kioni dismissed Kega’s sentiments accusing him of betraying his party leader, former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kioni claimed that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta supported his Kega’s 2022 political campaign and nominated him to EALA, but that he has now abandoned the former Head of State and is ungratefully mocking him over the party’s leadership.

“Can you imagine people putting themselves together and calling the former President into a disciplinary committee? The person who nominated you to EALA, to Parliament, who even funded your campaigns when you are running for an MP,” Kioni said.

The former Ndaragwa MP challenged any elected MPs considering joining President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza to instead return to the electorate and seek a fresh mandate.

“If you wish to move away from your party, not just Jubilee even ODM, Wiper and the rest, and you think it is greener within Kenya Kwanza, go back to the people and have a by-election done; don’t be the con of the people we have seen,” he said.
