WhatsApp to stop functioning on 49 smartphones from December 31 according to META which owns the platform.
META-owned platform, WhatsApp will stop working on a total of 49 smartphones this year.
WhatsApp periodically discontinues support for outdated iPhones and Android phones.
These gadgets are typically old and out-of-date ones that are no longer safe to use as they no longer receive regular software and security upgrades.
As is customary, WhatsApp is ending support for a whole bunch of devices this year as well.
Around 50 smartphones, including those from Samsung, Apple, Sony, and Huawei, are included on this year’s list, according to a report by GizChina.
According to the research, WhatsApp would cease to function on a total of 49 devices as of December 31, 2022.
The messaging app, which is owned by Meta, will first stop adding new features, updating existing ones, and fixing bugs for these smartphones.
The company will eventually stop providing support for these smartphones entirely.
The users of these smartphones will no longer be able to send messages or make audio or video calls using WhatsApp’s platform.
