CSs Duale, Kindiki urge KDF and police to show harmony following recent public fights between the two security groups.
Defence and Interior Cabinet Secretaries Aden Duale and Kithure Kindiki have urged the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the National Police Service (NPS) to work harmoniously, emphasizing comradeship despite recent confrontations between the two groups.
The two CSs attended the handover of the Wanini Keriri Magereza Hospital to the Prisons Service in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
“Within the security sector, we are one, we are united, we have different mandates, what binds us together is the security and stability of our nation,” Kindiki said.
He added that “the organs of internal security and the Kenya Defence Forces, we have a common objective”, so they must work together whenever there’s an opportunity.
Duale echoed Kindiki’s sentiments, adding that all those called to work within the framework of national security are comrades and partners.
“We want to ask each and every member of the security organs, the KDF, the NIS, the NPS, these three organs and many others below, that at all times our focus should be on comradeship, uniting our country and defending citizens and property…and working together when we are called upon to offer civil duty,” Duale said.

The modern Level 4 facility, constructed by the KDF, is set to enhance access to quality medical services for uniformed officers. The 150-bed hospital includes two main theatres, two intensive care beds, a maternity wing, and a dental unit, and will also serve Ruiru residents on a referral basis.
Both Duale and Kindiki highlighted the government’s dedication to providing high-quality medical services for police officers, which is crucial for the effective provision of security services that drive the country’s socio-economic development.
Kindiki also stressed the importance of maintaining government facilities, noting the unfortunate neglect and disrepair of many such buildings and equipment.
Ruiru MP Simon King’ara remarked that the new facility will alleviate overcrowding at Ruiru Level 4 Hospital, which struggles to serve the area’s large population.
