DCI is clueless about bodies found in Kware quarry; Azimio MP

Kathiani MP Robert Mbui criticizes the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for their handling of the recent discovery of mutilated bodies at a quarry in Mukuru
Kathiani MP Robert Mbui criticizes the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for their handling of the recent discovery of mutilated bodies at a quarry in Mukuru.
Speaking during an interview on a local television station on Monday, July 15, 2024, Mbui expressed concern over the lack of clear direction from the police regarding the gruesome findings.
“Listening to the DCI and the IG of police, I was surprised because they didn’t give a comment to the public that was going to make the public comfortable with what is happening,” Mbui remarked.
“When you hold an office like the Inspector General of the DCI, you have to give people confidence. Instead, they were shooting blanks, speculating like anyone else, suggesting it could be criminal gangs, serial killers, rogue medical practitioners, or even a cult,” he added.
The MP emphasized the need for thorough forensic investigations before making any public statements about the case.

He noted that the DCI should have utilized their forensic capabilities to identify the bodies, determine how long they had been there, and ascertain if the same individual was responsible for the killings.
“I thought to myself don’t you have to carry out investigations based on the facts that you have the forensic ability to identify the bodies, figure out how long they have been there and figure out if it was done by the same person.
“You need to be able to do all that before you can make a comment. I listened to them and I thought they are as clueless as everybody in that slum. And I thought to myself those are the people given the responsibility of being able to investigate, I felt they have really really given us a raw deal,” Mbui said.
