Former CS Kuria claims events leading to cabinet dismissal were an attempted coup

Moses Kuria alleges that there was an attempted coup against President Ruto by top government officials forcing him to dismiss the cabinet
Moses Kuria alleges that there was an attempted coup against President Ruto by top government officials forcing him to dismiss the cabinet.
Former Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management CS Moses Kuria says it was not a matter of if, but when the Cabinet was to be sent packing, claiming the events leading up to their sacking were an attempted coup on President William Ruto.
“Some people who were in this government were attempting a coup. We know some people like a hyena who saw the hand swinging they thought it was gone, and they took advantage of the Gen Z there. This was a clear failed coup,” Kuria told Citizen TV in an exclusive interview on Sunday.
The ex-CS revealed that the cracks within the Cabinet had made it untenable to transact business for the people.
“We had our problems, even to have a Cabinet committee was a problem and we needed to give the president a chance to reconvene his cabinet,” he said.
Although his ministry was dogged by corruption allegations over the importation of edible oils, Kuria maintains the process was above board.
“For the last two years, edible oils have remained at 50% of what they were before,” the former CS said.

The former CS who fell short of dropping names of his colleagues spoiled it for all, however, says the Gen Z demonstrators had taught him a valuable life lesson.
“I’ve been calling him them the generation of Uber and fish fingers. They have proven me wrong. Now the Uber and the fish fingers people have shown me they can take this country forward. If I had a wish, I would want to be a Gen Z,” Kuria said.
He reflected on those trolling him online after the job loss, saying “some people are enjoying me wewe ulifutwa n ahata wao hawana job… hata hao wananiridicule na hatuna job. Ati mimi unipate kwa corner nalia ooh, not me… I’m a global person.”
And as President Ruto plans to reconstitute a broad-based Cabinet, Kuria says he supports the plan to have the opposition members join the ranks of government.
“I support the government of national unity. If I get a chance to serve in the cabinet again, I won’t mind coming back but if I don’t, so be it,” he said.
