Recce squad police officers have arrested 12 people who were attempting security breach at State House Nairobi.
12 people were intercepted and arrested on Monday, March 10, while attempting to breach State House.
Reports indicate the arrests were carried out by the Recce Squad who prevented the group from gaining entry into the premises.
According to eyewitnesses, a tense standoff ensued before security forces managed to apprehend the individuals.
The reason behind their attempt to enter the highly secured government facility remains unclear, as authorities have yet to disclose their identities or motives.
Security agencies have assured the public that there was no immediate threat and that all necessary measures are in place to safeguard State House.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This comes nearly a decade after 29-year-old handcart pusher, William Ngene Njuguna, was arrested for trespassing into State House.

In the incident that happened in March 2016, driven by curiosity, he jumped two fences to see the building firsthand, as he had only viewed it in newspapers and on television.
Upon arrest, he pleaded guilty to entering a protected area without permission and was remanded in custody pending sentencing.
After his release in April 2016, Ngene was found dead at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, with injuries indicating he had been assaulted.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and investigations were initiated to determine the cause.
On the other hand, in October 2015, Walter Juma was arrested inside the State House grounds, claiming to be a friend of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Similarly, in March 2017, another intruder was shot after illegally entering the premises.
