KUCCPS extends university and TVET application May 22 deadline

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS) has quietly reopened application portals for both university and TVET application windows after the lapse of the second revision window on May 22.

Initially, in an announcement made by the placement body, the portal was opened from May 16 to May 22, to give students who did not secure placement during the initial application in the first application window to revise their courses.

Those who did not also get the chance to apply for various reasons were also given the chance to apply ahead of the September intake.

However, we can confirm that the window extended beyond the May 22 timeline the agency had set, after the spot check.

In the current extension, the university students’ window has been extended up to the end of May, with the portal indicating that it will close on Monday, June 1.

On the other hand, students seeking placement in TVET institutions will have up to Monday, June 8, before the application window officially closes down, according to the portal.

This extension is an excellent news for candidates who missed the initial May 22 deadline or experienced technical challenges.

It means that those who missed the application in the first window or those who failed to revise their courses can use this opportunity to either revise or make new applications.

Students who are yet to apply or intend to make adjustments should log in to the official KUCCPS student portal and submit or review their choices before the new timelines lapse.

It is important to note that students will know the exact institutions they have been placed in from July, when they will also be informed of the courses they will pursue.

However, for those who will not be content with either the programme or the institution given to them by the agency, they will have an opportunity to either transfer courses or institutions under instructions that will follow from KUCCPS.
