Police launch investigations after a woman was stabbed during a party with an MP at a Kilimani apartment.

Investigators at Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi are probing an incident where a woman was stabbed several times in a short-stay rental apartment within Nairobi and survived with stab wounds.

Patricia Muthoni Karanja is the latest victim of violence reported in a short-stay rental apartment in the country.

Her story is a testimony of how she survived an attack that has left her nursing serious stab wound injuries.

“They kept attacking me, I was screaming because I realized I had to save myself, record what was happening, or no one would ever know what really happened…” recounts Patricia Muthoni.

The young woman was invited to a meeting with a sitting MP which turned into a party at a club within Kilimani.

As the party went on, the victim, two other women, and the politician agreed to spend the night at a short-stay rental within Kilimani.

The victim says that while at the rental, the two other women, well-known to the politician, turned their rage on her. She says one of the women attacked her, stabbing her several times.

“…they were picking forks, knives from the kitchen and attacking me…as I tried to defend myself, Sally took a knife and stabbed me on this side,” adds Patricia.

After the assault, she was locked in the room and left alone. She was rescued by security guards who heard her cry.

“I was screaming, banging the door, I was screaming, and the guards came to the house. The guard then called the police. While at the station, I could not take my statement, I was unconscious…” she says.

Police say Patricia suffered serious stab wounds to her lower abdomen and other bodily injuries.

After the rescue, she was admitted to a nearby facility for medical attention.

“They were on a drinking spree. During this time, it’s when the fighting started. We are finding out more details…”

Even though she is concerned about the progress of investigations, investigators say they are monitoring the case and court process.
