Geoffrey said only one man, claiming to be a Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer, identified himself by flashing a DCI identity card.
“Once I opened the gate, they proceeded to the office where they handcuffed Morara Kebaso and took his phones, an iPhone and a Samsung phone, and his laptop,” he said.
According to Geoffrey, Kebaso was then bundled into a car, registration number KCQ 166J, and driven to the Regional Police Headquarters.

The reason for Kebaso’s arrest was yet to be revealed at the time of publishing this article.
Following Kebaso’s arrest, a section of Kenyans expressed discontent on social media, characterizing the incident as an abduction.
“It is appalling that abductions and arbitrary arrests are ongoing in the country. The young man Morara Kebaso MUST be released immediately or presented to court in the next few hours; or else this government will lose its legitimacy completely,” Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka wrote on X.
Police were also forced to fire tear gas canisters outside the Regional Police Headquarters to disperse protestors who were demanding Kebaso’s release.
